Choosing the right camera

*This was chosen for taking shots for our poster, due to the excellent stand still image quality*




Canon 7D

Pros:

• Excellent image quality
• Great low light
• Full-frame shooting

Cons:

• Heavy - difficult to carry around whilst shooting footage
• Lacks a built-in, pop-up flash;
• No external headphone jack; in order to listen to dialogue and audio

JVC Everio HD Camcorder

Pros:

• Lightweight and small
• Decent image quality

Cons:

• Poor still quality especially indoors
• Poor battery life
• Extreme Landscpae focus - cannot be changed captures too much

*We chose this for filming, as it had the best balance of portability and overall image quality *




Canon Vixia / Legria HD

Pros:

• Amazing low-light performance
• Lighter travel
• great photo image quality
• Full manual control will lets us be more adventurous filmmakers and tweak our footage for a professional look

Cons:

• built-in audio is horrible
• No Built-in Light/Flash
