Choices for our media coursework

As expected, the A2 project would differ from the AS project we created last year. The A2 project would be more challenging in comparison and require two ancillary products to support the main product. As our media studies focused on film, the selection of briefs are as follows:

 

After discussions of the three briefs, we came to the conclusion that we would go with brief number 10 - a short film along a poster and a film magazine review page. The reason for this was because for our AS project we created a film opening, so we already had experience in the conventions with creating a film so now we agreed to take our skills that step further and create a short film. 

Along with that, we chose to create a film magazine review page and a poster to support our short film. The reason for choosing to create a film poster was because we are extremely familiar with seeing film posters every day, so conventions of certain genres come to us naturally so it would be a great practice to actually create our own poster. Also, we'll be able to learn to use new software such as photoshop to create desired effects.

Lastly, the second ancillary piece we selected was a review page for the film. The reason for choosing this would be because we felt it would compliment our film greatly as typically films come with reviews. It would allow us to evaluate our own performance and learn from what we have done and what we could improve on, letting us benefit from reviewing our own work as accurately as we could. We can voice our own opinion and let others know what the film is about simultaneously.
